At the time of me writing this (00:50am GMT+1), it appears the server is up. At least for the time being.

Regarding, Runic Fletching Kits, just as an FYI there is a mob in game that can drop any kind of Runic Fletching kit (I think with random charges). It can be beaten with strategy by moderately equipped players (if they don't mind a few potential deaths) or just endured by end-game players. You'll find it in the wilds near to Umbra.

I have nothing negative to say about giving sword and board characters some attention, but they aren't as weak as some people make them out to be...as a matter of fact I have been toying with the idea of either making a sword board character for top end Fel content out of one of my alts or simply just changing my name sake. Bushido's attractiveness is born out of how well it synergise with some of the custom systems especially when facing some of the mobs here.

I agree we need Runic Tinker tools, I also ask that Runic Carpentry tools also be added as one of most useful base weapons in the game is being left to rot simply because there is no way to make a runic version of it...it also happens to be a one handed weapon thus why I have an interest in it lol.

Armour changes aren't going to happen, unless it's outright superior to what's already accounted for and neither the HotL nor the Dwarf helm are that. I'm tempted to just cease efforts with regards to the new character it's been too much work for an experimental gimmick character, I mean Druidry wasn't all that great thus why I made Foray and phased out Rith to begin with.

Trading / Looking for Jewelry.

Hi, I am looking for the following

Earrings that as at-least: 15+ Damage Increase, 15+ Defense Chance Increase

Ring that as at-least: 15+ Damage Increase, 15+ Defense Chance Increase

In addition to the above, if they have FC, FCR, Hit Chance Increase, Cold Resist, Physical Resist or Energy Resist then I'll pay extra, but they must have 15 DI and DCI minimum. Let me know your price. Thank you.

Wand is for training parry and training someone elses weapon skill (especially weaker players who might otherwise get slaughtered by your auto-attacks). Wands are also extremely useful for tamers as it allows them to not interrupt their own taming attempts due to auto-attacking so they don't have to keep tabbing out of war mode, with Mace and Bush/Parry it also means they retain their defences through all this as well.

General Discussion / Re: raw dex question
December 26, 2015, 09:16:30 PM
One thing that stands out to me is that somehow you have less max Stamina than you have Dex, do you have an item with a penalty to Stamina on it or something? Because your Stamina listing should be at least equal to your Dex value.

There is a few main ways to increase your chances against higher end breath weapon users. Some I know from experience work, others I can't personally confirm but many others have been quite adamant that it work well..etc.

*) The most common and basic way is to evade/ parry it to do this you'd need Bushido of Evasion and to use a one or two handed weapon (two handed = higher chances) and if you do opt for a one handed weapon don't use a shield. If the system here still works as it should then you get substantial penalties for even using shield with Bushido. Anyways, Evasion allows for you to defend against breath weapon attacks sometimes they'll get through but usually it's good enough if you can keep up with a damage/ DPS "race" with the breath weapon user. The damage a breath weapon does is based on the users current HP and maximum base HP, a mob with a high base HP will have a painful and dangerous breath weapon a user with laughable health will have a pathetic breath weapon. Current HP of user also impacts the damage their breath weapon does the nearer to dead they are the weaker their breath weapon becomes, eventually it'll be weak enough to where you wont need to be cautious about it and can just go all in. However if the mob was to flee, heal up and come back it's breath weapon will also have become dangerous again.

**) Now for something that for me is unconfirmed but that many players over the years, including some very successful ones have sworn by. Dex stacking, according to these players it is possible to take dex to close to 300 and be virtually untouchable when it is used in conjunction with Bushido + Parry (dex is a component part of this system), this would carry over to evasion meaning If you kept evasion up you don't have to care too much. I'm not sure what to make of this, other than while I don't doubt that they experience better parry chances than my flagship character ever did I doubt it was anything near "Physically Intangible" territory. Dex does increase stamina, stamina helps determine swing speed. It is possible with enough stamina (and if need be Swing Speed Increase) to swing even the most clumsy and slow weapon as if it was a dagger which means more weapon procs, more damage..etc.

***) While it is not the be all and end all answer to breath weapons from those types of mobs, HP stacking is viable. For going on 10 years my flagship as gone the HP route even when everyone was going the Dex route. The trick is to combine it with a variety of things (some covered here, some not) the idea is that you are playing knowing you'll take some big hits occasional or some undefended damage and doing what is needed to mitigate and decrease the long term impacts of them. The downside to going the HP route is you'll have just enough dex to cover bandage speeds (so about 200 Dex) and that typically means your stamina will be at least equal to your dex, this limits what weapons you can get away with using and obviously this skewers your options more towards the weaker faster weapons and if you can get good ones then some medium speed weapons. With careful equipment decisions it is fully possible to safe use the majority of weapon though but the effort you'd have to put into that suite would be significant due to runic RNG and drop rates.

****) These days I would honestly wager it's fully plausable to push a higher balanced approach where you have high(ish) dex and great HP, you might not have as much HP as I do/ could or as much dex as some of the full dex users but you'll have way better survivability than most dex users do and way wider selection of weapons than I and any other HP user does. The downside to this is you'd need very specific equipment to pull it off and that is the limiting factor but I would probably say this is the optimal route for general play.

To give you some rough guideline figures:
Dex focused:
HP: 200(ish) at most
Dex: 290 to 300+
Int: 150 (ish)

HP focused:
HP: 350 to 420
Dex: 190 to 220
Int: 150 (ish)

Balanced:
HP: 330 to 350
Dex: 240 to 275
Int: 150(ish)

Hopefully someone can speak more on the Dex focused method and the Balanced focused method so you can get a clearer picture of what life is like for those builds. But regardless I am willing to try to help further if needed, I will say this though once you decide on an avenue you want to go down you'll likely have to look at your equipment and see what you can straight up replace and work on replacing them. These now unneeded socketed items you can just divert into uplifting your alts or something like that so they don't actually go to waste.

Go the the Trammal Valour shrine and disarm the guard, then follow him to a corner or a coast and shoot at him. Watch out for Silver Serpents and don't get too close, I'd strongly suggest you don't AFK this either because the Silver Serpents can spawn on the entire island.

General Discussion / Re: Augment Information

1) Pets can have a maximum of 6 sockets.

2) Not sure, it's either Physical resistance OR it's damage reduction (like what the Drow King as). Cypress will have to say what it actually does.

3) No idea for pets but players are still bound by 70s.

Also I should point on that some of the augment info might be out of date as to how much of whatever they are said to do on the forums, we really do need to fully update the augment info on the forums as some things have changed over the years.

Unfortunately I don't know about the map related questions, however the camping method for stats once you hit max character level cap does work here and it's the main way people get their base stats finished.

As for socketing, if an item says it as max sockets then that item can not be socketed any further. It's fine for short term arrangements but ideally you don't want any item you intend to socket and use in the long term to have a max listing. You want to be able to take each and every piece to 6 sockets, what things can be sockets is: Earrings, Rings, Bracelets, Necklaces, Armour, Shields, Weapons and Pets. Pets are socketed the same way as everything else however the person socketing needs to be able to hold/ handle the pet and it it is strongly advised that the pet is bonded to the person socketing or it might perma-die  but this causes issues as it takes one week before it's bonded to the socketer and then another week before its bonded back to you and I don't know if the 3 owner/ trade rule applies here. In the past the people who would socket pets either had taming on their socketer for this purpose or they potentially just made a 120 smithing suite using glimmerings and wore it on their tamer.

1) Tomarties are available, yes you can get pretty much get all of them with the exception of the dyes. Greater Tokuno arties come from turning in 10 Tomarties into one of the 2 npcs in Makoto-Jima town center (note you must turn them all into the same NPC, or did last I knew and also please don't turn them in till you have 10 Tomarties to turn in). Some Greater Tokuno and Minor Tokuno arties are not advised to be socketed (Kasa and that Ninja mask come to mind as they are treated as clothing and not armour).

2) Augments can come from dungeon treasure chests, map based treasure chests and any notable mobs (which is basically all of them), a good guide is if you get an augment (crystal, Rune, Wood, Stone, Gem) of any type then it is almost guaranteed that you could in theory get any other augment from it though getting Legendary and Mythic are far less likely than getting Ancients..etc

3) Not entirely from what I have seen

4) Only one type of Ancient is tamable and it's on a timer, a very long timer to the point where if you are coming in blind and there are other tamers active on the server you are at a huge disadvantage in try to get it, however special pets do exist in random parts of the different maps and facets. Some of these are also on long timers but since they are not as powerful as the Glacials people have mostly lost track of them.

5)  Can't remember, but the inability to use travel magics makes it a pain to try to get Valorite in Fel, base materials are purchasable from the commodity stone.

6) Fel is an advanced hunting ground, it is meant for fully socketed or talented players to have fun with, some parts of Fel are extreme enough to require you to be extremely well geared/ talented or with a group of decent players. PvP can still be done there just follow the server rules regarding it and thing's will be fine for you.

7) No:

        Ancients: 1 socket
        Legendary: 2 sockets
        Mythic: 3 socket

        Crystal: 2 sockets
        Radiant Crystal: 4 Sockets

Stones: 1 socket (I recall there being a engine bug that meant you shouldn't put more than x (not sure how much) amount of a skill on a single item).
        Runes: 1 socket

8) What Peerless there are implemented will be custom variations of them, not what OSI or other shards have for them.

9) Correct, no Heartwood and no runic carpentry tools. Runic fletching kits come from VS (you get VS from atones, and you get atones from clearing what you kill). There is also a certain moderate difficulty fight somewhere in Malas that can drop a random runic fletching kit, but it is not a guaranteed drop and it quite literally can drop any of the runic fletching kits and I think possibly with random charges on them as well.

10) Yes, but if they are classed as clothing or something other than Weapons, Shields, Armour, Jewelry, Pets then no. So you could socket an Helm of Insight but not the Kasa of Raijin...as one is treated as a armour piece the other a clothing item.
