I know I sound like a broken record, but I am broken on this point.

Just in case you have NOT read the rules recently....

"Don't meet a person and immediately attack them without warning ... Rather, notify them of your intent and then get to work."

http://www.sylvanheart.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=96.0

That means that sneak attacks are out of the question, unless you can figure out a way to RP it. There are ways, however I am not going to help you on that one. I think that sneak and hide might be better used when you banditos turn and run from the people pulling the Glacial out of their pocket and pointing at lunch ;)

Have a good one.....

Actually i can see it fine on Men...its Females wearing it that dont show up. You will note it was cillian ( female) that made the other peice... I didnt pick it up myself to test it on me..figureing that it would be the same.
So appareintly there is not female dragon armour graphic...really all the parts but the chest should look about the same.... Im not sure what the BP should look like.

However, thanks to Jillian for figuring this out. She told me the other day, right after I had seen some one else in it ( male) so it showed up fine.

Have a good one....

there are plenty of RP names that do not simply refer to killing a fellow player....

Bandit
Bandito ( for the latin twist)
Thieves
Mauraders
vigilanttes
any of the various names for small guerilla groups that happen to also be bandits
Brigand
Or even if you just happen to get your jollies on whacking people MURDERER
If you would like i can come up with more :) Happy to help you RP it instead of just kill people.

I think you mean me TTG not Fae.... he merely agreed with me. I also fully agree with his comments. I have known RPers who wanted pvp to do more RP, however, most pvpers are griefers, and so when someone calls themselves a PK..they are calling themselves a Griefer. If they are rpers, they dont do it....

No, I dont get a rush, just pissed off when someone comes and attacks me for no reason other then to see me dead. Thats one of the reasons i dont do Fel.

Pk's are griefers in my mind, since they serve only to cause grief to other people. That is not allowed here!
Bandits, marauders, thieves, and various other Role Players are allowed. You Must RP the encounter that means on the whole no just walking up and trashing people, no sneak attacks without planning ( yes there are ways to RP it out, but you have to put some effort into it), no just killing without interaction before hand.
I know I have argued with someone over this word before, but I stand by my definition. A PK is nothing more then a griefer, they kill people just for the fun of it, or they are lazy. Fine on another server, but here we need to RP the PvP that means...you want to kill people for fun? call yourself a murderer! want to steal all the time, your a thief! want to rampage the countryside... your a bandit! there are plenty of ways to role play it out, and to enjoy the privilege (note...not right) of being able to fight your fellow player ( note also that pvp does not have to end with death either). You must though use role playing to gain that privilege! a pk is NOT a rp title!

You might assume from my use of exclamation marks I am touchy on this subject, and I am. I detest pks, with two or three passions. They ruin the game, with no shadow of a doubt. They do not serve any purpose other then griefing people! They are why we left OSI years ago the first time. BTW I am not alone in feeling this way, I have talked to lots of other players in game who feel the same way about pks.
Now do not get me wrong, I think RPing pvp isn't not as bad, and I can understand it. I do not tend to go into fel places because I don't wish to come into those possible conflicts, but I can completely understand that some do enjoy the RP aspect of it. However, I am always on guard against pk's, not rpers. That's why I restate the rules that you must use RP to do the PvP, because that's the only thing that lays between a Rper and a PK...the Rper is doing it for story..the pk for grief.

Anyway....I could go on....but Ill desist :)
Have a good one

and ttg, it wasn't aimed at you, you just set off my rant with that term (pk), because it means so much to me in a very very negative way. SO accept my apologies if you think it is, its not...its a generally pk rant.

the only time I think it has really been discussed it when its in relation to an event or a guild war. Honestly there is no real PvP here. In relation to the above to topics... it varies. As for events...just things that are easily replaceable like bandages, regs, gold. As to the Guild wars...well there was really only one big one and that was close to a year ago. There were rules set and agreed to by both guilds pretty much. There was some discussion, but the end result was up to them.

So not much help Im afraid... you will have to go on your own I guess. Personally If you are going to PvP I would say prepare to pay the piper. Make sure your gear is insured and anything you want to keep is also, and have that pesky auto insure on...

Hey speaking of critters...has the spawn gone down in Ilsh? Both my wife and son were wondering that the other day.. they were trying to find stuff to kill...and were saying that there was a lack of targets. They dont like asking questions too often, so that leaves it up to me :).

Jillian More and i came across a problem today with the dragon armour graphics. While waiting around for some one I opened up her paperdoll and was looking at her equipment. It was red platemail, and ring leggings, only the title was Dragon plate. I wondered if she had renamed it, there was nothing special on it cept the name really, so I was somwhat confused about it. Cillian was on and she went ahead and popped out a peice of dragon armour of her own and it showed up the same way. Now just the other day I had seen thorn undertoe in a set and it had looked normal, and I didnt see any announcements about changing anything since then. So when Alaric showed up on a differant issue he said to post something to the forums about it, becuase he didnt know.
Well here is the post :), the dragon armour looked fine on her mobile, and in a trade window, but the paperdoll graphic is not showing up right. Is this a client side issue? did I miss a patch I was supposed to get? is anyone else having this problem, I know the armour is not that common, so its possible that people just havent noticed it yet.
Have a good one :)

The Professionals / Re: Vendor Prices.....
May 01, 2007, 07:48:25 PM
Anything is worth the most that you can get from it ;)......Roman saying btw not me.
Arties used to have the value of 10k per lesser and 100k for the greater ones....so for instance your darkened sky ( I think thats a greater, isnt it) would be 100k, then if its fully socketed...whew thats a bundle there. just the val alone to socket something is 50k ish ( at 100 per val last time I checked was normal still), so in val alone 300k, then there is the socketing itself...at a bare minimum another 60k and what ever you paid to the person socketing ( which in some cases can be quite a bit) So a fully socketed greater tokono arty should be in the neighborhood of 460k.... a bit higher then the 50k you were refering to :).

As to the deco artifacts...those go from nothing to expensive, depending upon demand, and rarity. I would agree that a small basket priced at 25k is a bit much, but then again, is it rare? whats it like? without seeing it or knowing more about it, I cannot give anymore of an opinion on the price, but that there are several factors that MIGHT apply.

What you might do on crafted items is fix a price for yourself that you would charge for all the required resources, and then tack on some for your time and effort. I know I sell stone goods far higher then metal or leather becuase the stone is harder to come by. If you say set the price of normal ingots to 10 gold ( this encompassing your time and effort to gain and smelt the ore) and then decide to make a weapon that say takes 10 ingots...you got 100 gold into it so far, and then tack say 20 gold for skill and time....120g which is a more then fair price for a weapon.

Just dont forget that this is not a money poor shard, it is easy to make money here, it shouldnt be too hard to spend it ;).

I know an argument can be made for starting chars...but really when you start you get 20k just given to you, plus many people try to give new players some gear as well ( I know I try to give them a set or troll armour). If they want the good magical stuff :)... let them earn some gold. Same thing with the houseing items, like the forge you mentioned. 2k may seem alot, but when you consider how much money will be made using that forge or anvil its not much.

Anyway..fore I ramble too much.....:)  Use your own judgement, and dont cheat yourself. If you spent the time making it, make sure that people pay you what the time and goods are worth. If something doesnt sell in a long time, or every one is selling it way cheaper? you might want to adjust your price. On the other side if people are selling itfor way higher and you are always out of stock...might consider raiseing the price too.
aarrgg....im rambling again :)...Ok ok :)

Wish List / Re: Cooking
April 18, 2007, 11:15:48 PM
WOOO HOOO New radio and I can Post again!!!!!

I tried to post to this several days ago, however, my internet Radio ( for wireless, we live in the country) was on the fritz ( and has been getting bad for the past 3 or 4 months really).

OK :) I happen to still have this post in my paste file :) so it may be a bit dated....Im still posting as is cuase its not much off.

...I have been working on ideas on cooking as well, becuase Im tired of hearing Fenfyre yell at me about the almost uselessness of cooking as a skill of use. I have had to agree with her, pretty much for the same reasons stated here and more.
It actually cost more for a cook to make some of the exact same items that are listed on NPC vendors, NPC vendors sell a good deal of the goods that you can make, and a Huge one actually... The Create Food Spell pretty much makes buying food redundant. It is a first level spell so it takes almost nothing to cast in either regs or mana, and if you happen to have any good amount of LRC might cost you viturally nothing at all.
I know Fen has set up vendors 3 times now out at TCP plaza with food merchants, and set the prices to what she feels is fair ( which for her is barely over cost), and had those merchants simply go poof becuase no one needed to buy food from them. I completely understand why.... there is really no need for a PC food merchant.

I would suggest not only removing the food from the NPC vendors, but also to reduce the create food spell to 1 carrot (which counts as one point of food). This would reduce this low level spell back into what it is meant for..Emergencies when you are without food...not simply THE way to get full easy.

I know Fen and I have other things, and idea we have tossed around, when I get some more data worked in, ill post something....if this radio holds up...got our ISP problems worked out and if this radio does stay working, he is going to replace it next week :). ( *listens for the groans of....ooo Not Him Again*)

Now to address some of the other things. New players are given a good supply of apples in the gift bag unless thats changed. More then enough to have the time to get the lay of the land. We could also include a small book or scroll that tells them they need food, and where to look for it.
