Announcements / Follow your heart
December 03, 2007, 07:54:02 PM
Disclaimer--For those not wanting to read the ooie gooie part, please just skip to the bottom for the announcement--

Follow your heart.
It seems like simple, sound advice. Well, not for an old, broken down warrior, set in his ways, used to surviving by a thread, hunting alone...being alone. That was before I met Lady Wintermoon. Her beauty was obvious from the start, but I only later discovered her true beauty within.
"Follow your heart", they said.
It seems like so long, from then to now, yet it has only been a mere month. I feel that I have known this lovely lady my entire life, and that she perfectly fits the hole in this lonely warriors heart. Attraction became fascination, then addiction, then love. Pure as fine crystal, sweet as the last drop of honey, and beautiful as an evening sun, this woman has taken my heart, and renewed my spirit.
"Follow your heart", they told me.
It has not been easy, few things worth it are. Did I baby her a bit, aye, but her warriors heart has not only proven me wrong, it has renewed my own. But through the counsel of friends, I have learned one thing. And it seemed that every person I spoke to gave the same advice.
"Follow your heart."
Well, friends, I did just that. Last night, not when I was planning, not where I was planning, not even how I was planning, I asked Lady Wintermoon to become my wife. To give me the rest of our lives to make her as happy as she has made me. And to my greatest joy, she said yes. To everyone that counseled me, I thank you. To my beloved Wintermoon, I love you, with all that it in me. I have followed my heart, and it has led me straight to you..................

Elaborate. Have you changed weps? Bushido and parry work better with 2-hand weps. what mobs are you fighting? Etc.

Ok,
Well, December 1st seemed overwhelmingly the best day for everyone, so that is it. 6:00pm EST should be a good time for most. For those that have not done a white elephant before, here are the rules.

1. Everyone brings a wrapped gift, which I will lock down so no one peeks. Doesn't have to be something uber fantastic, but something nice, please.
2. We roll the dice to see who goes first.
3. First one up picks a gift, opens it, and reveals what they got.
4. Second person up has choice of picking another gift, or stealing the gift the first person got. In which case, the first person gets to pick again.
5. Next up, same thing, can steal from any of the others, or pick their own.
6. Etc. Etc, until all gifts are picked, and everyone has a gift.

All I ask is that everyone come to have fun. Don't expect to keep the gift you got, cause that's not how the game usually works. This should be good for those that always say they roll low at the dice, since they will get to go last, and have almost everything to pick from.

7. And most important rule---HAVE FUN!!!

See everyone on the 1st!!!

Hail all,
I will be hosting a Christmas party for DoE members at my house. We will be featuring a white elephant gift exchange, and plenty of good stuff for everyone. Please let me know which date works best, so I can plan accordingly.

You know you play too much UO when you try to use Evasion on your wife after she tells you to get off the computer for the 100th time, but then settle for saying "An Lor Xen".

Well, as you know, I use a horselord, which is a Yumi, but only because of it's power and stats. If I had to choose given the same stats, and all things being equal, I would be between the repeating crossbow and the regular crossbow. The reasons for the repeating are: fastest swing of all the bows, DPS of 2.67, which is third from best, and the special abilities, double-shot, and moving shot.  The regular crossbow boasts the highest DPS of all of them, 2.76, and still has decent specials, concussion blow and mortal strike. But the speed and specials put the repeating xbow a hair above for me, at least. The heavy xbow gets an honorable mention, being that it is second in DPS at 2.75, but it being the slowest to use, compounded with the dismount secondary, which is useless expect for PvP, significantly drop it's desirability. This is, of course, assuming that everything on Stratics is still accurate. This is based on base only, using the calculator significantly changes this in favor of a Yumi, if it is accurate. Hope this info helps!!!

Just as an alternative, since I like to be a problem solver....What about 3 times a month? like every 10 days (10th, 20th, 30th of th month)? That would have it on different days, meaning people that can't usually make it on Sundays have another opportunity.
