I don't usually do this kind of thing, but I'd like to ask you to keep in your thoughts and prayers a family that I know.  They are patients of my husband, who is a Chiropractor, and were just in his office on Wednesday.   Yesterday evening, Thursday, a speeding driver hit a pair of sisters, 4 years old and 6 years old as they were walking across the street near their home.    This afternoon the little 4 year old passed away and the 6 year old is in critical condition.  These little girls were so sweet and special, and I can only imagine how devastated their mother is.   I am a strong believer in the benefit of positive energy from meditation and prayer.    Thanks.

This Sunday, May 3, was to be our May auction day.   I notice there isn't much on the auction tables.  Do you all feel we should delay it to say May 17th (after Mother's Day?)  I know a lot are busy with many things in real life, and maybe a bit more time would help.   Let us know here.

Okay, April auction will be Sunday April 5th.   Please page staff to have your wonderful items added to the tables.   Don't forget we also have a nice staff item up as usual.

It has been brought to my attention that our naming requirements are not complete enough.  This has always been posted in the Shard Basic section and in the welcoming letter I send to new players.  I had always thought the way it currently is was sufficient.   It has been brought to my attention that it is not.

Currently it reads:   

Please do NOT name your characters after TV shows, Movie characters, Comic Book characters  No L33t names, d00d type names, or names that would be insulting to other players. CheVyMaN will quickly have his name changed to Bob.  Superman will rapidly become Bob.   IownzJu, will get a free ticket to being Bob.

If we find a name that does not fit with our naming requirements, we will give you the chance to come up with a new name, and will change it for you. We usually contact you when you are in game, if we don't see you on and you log in and find one of your characters named Bob, you will know you need a new name.

I will be changing part of  it to read: Please do NOT name your characters after TV shows, Movie characters, Comic Book characters, Cartoon show characters, or breakfast food. No L33t names, d00d type names, or names referencing drug activities. Do not create a character named with a Staffer name, current or past. 

Staff are not naming police, but we do ask this small favor of you as players. There are many times that we give leeway, because think about  it, how many people in the real world might have your  name?

We are planning to run Pet Wars twice a month.  That means  it's time again for the second March pet wars!  Wow, where is time going??   
Get your pets warmed up, you have time for a bit more training.   Be there, approximately 8 PM Eastern time!!

The following is a list of pets that normally are up for competition, only if there are at least 2 animals in each class:

Sylvan is 4 years old!!  I can hardly believe it, four years since the server known as Sylvan Dreams became public and welcomed our first residents.   Believe it or not, we do still have a few of those very first accounts and players still here... though I won't name names.

A lot of players have come and gone over four years, we have even lost a couple of our members who have crossed over from this world to the next.  The shard has gone through growing pains, a few different server hosts, a plethora of Staffers, the opening of Felucca, and monsters galore.  Through it all, our desire has been to give you a great place to enjoy UO with friends and family.

Thank you all for making it four years of fun!!


*note*  Sylvan Heart will celebrate its 3rd birthday in June.  We will be working on fun celebration events.  If you might have and idea to help with the party, let Staff know.

That's right, folks, spring is nearly on us, your pets have had all winter to rest up and get fat.  It's time to start up Pet Wars again, to test the strength of beast VS beast!   We plan on having pet wars twice a month.   As always, considering the wide range of time zones we have, times are always the hardest to sort out to get the most people being able to participate.   I am asking here for some comment.    As it stands now, I am thinking of Thursday evenings, March 12, and March 26.... around 7 PM eastern US time.   Now, if we had enough people that through the week wouldn't work, we might have a weekend war.  Help me decide the best times.
