Staff is certainly discussing this idea again with the thought we would try and remove a lot of items from NPC vendors that players can craft.

I'm sure this is something staff is already aware of, but orcs drop soooo many ribs it's easy to go kill a few and support yourself for days. It's not just vendors that would have to be cleaned out, but monster food loot also. By the way I am all in favor of putting as much of the economy as possible in players hands.

Trying to take food off monster drops would most likely be a huge undertaking.  I'm not sure it is something that  could be managed, scripting wise.   Just like I wanted to alter our in game hunger - thirst stuff, but it is tied in with so very many scripts, it hasn't been possible.

Hmm.... You've all got a good point. I'm throwing away my nuclear stock-pile of apples in my pack and i'll be buying food from all of you cooks out there. At your prices, not NPC vendor ones.
