Yes! In fact I just installed and was *astonished* to find my account still intact (and my house still decorated for Christmas, ha!) Happy day!

Hello!

I was a player here some years back. Tonight I ran across some old screenshots from when I was still playing and was feeling nostalgic. I fell out of the game due to a combination of real life obligations eating up my time and that I was having an increasingly hard time even getting the client to run on my newer computers.

I really miss this shard, though. I'm pretty painfully shy and as silly as it may seem, my social anxieties extend into my online gaming, but Sylvan Heart was always full of such ridiculously friendly and fun people I never felt like an outsider here. I'm glad to see things still running strong. Of all of the player-run shards I played on, this is the one I miss. Perhaps one day I will be able to come back :)

Happy Holidays to the players I knew then, the players who have come since, and the ever hard-working staff that made Sylvan Heart a great place to play!

General Discussion / Re: Reasons you don't play now?

I know it's not entirely useful to cite "lack of time" for these, as the skygods have no control over my work schedule. But it is mostly that I have very little time to play. I suppose I don't spend as much of the little free time I've had playing because I just don't have large enough chunks of time free to really do much in-game. One of the things that drew me into this shard was that there were very frequent events happening. Even when I didn't have a long time to devote to playing that night, I could often sign in, and catch a few rounds of paintball or a race. At the time, there were also consistently more people online at a time, though. Sadly, I have largely been unable to attend planned events simply because of my erratic work schedule. I miss pet wars, but wouldn't really be able to suggest a day, as there isn't one that I would reliably be able to attend, as my schedule is never the same from week to week.

So, again, I realize this may not be very helpful feedback, but it's mostly what keeps me away.

False, but a shot of Amaretto Liqueur in my hot cocoa is sounding like a mighty fine idea tonight.

The person below me succeeded in their New Years Resolution last year.

Wish List / Re: Magery idea

In response to being able to buy scrolls from mages, I would guess that if they became something to be used in the way described that they would be removed from the npc vendors like anything else that can be crafted. I think I would kind of like to see this anyway, as I'd like to see at least a little demand for scrolls other than mark/gate/recall scrolls.

If this were ever implemented, I would vote on blank scrolls being crafted from leather rather than logs. Just seems a more likely material to be used. Or even cloth, something closer to canvas than paper.

I think the idea for using scrolls is pretty interesting and could make inscription a little more interesting too.

Attaching the druid spell restrictions to the staff would be difficult. I could be wrong since I don't know all of the inner-workings of the game code, but while I know there are account-bound items, and possibly even character-bound items that can't be transferred to another character, is there already something available in the game that would make the game say "This character already has the druid staff, so he can't have a mage staff".

Is the intent of the restriction to stop druids from being able to insta-cast druid spells, or to prevent druids from being able to use the insta-cast on mage spells in addition to being able to use druid spells with normal cast times? If it's just to keep them from insta-casting druid spells, it would just need to be applied to the druid spells specifically. Restricting the ability beyond that could get complicated. Then again, I don't know much about the inner-workings of the came or what the code allows.

True. I do not cope well without internet access. Not only do I conduct business, pay bills, and keep in touch with people with it, I get cranky if I don't get some quiet "mindless clicking on things" time after work.

The person below me still isn't done with their holiday shopping.

Mmmmm... pumpkin pie. Just getting to that part now at my place. *takes a great big delicious bite*

Onari, I fail to see the point to Thanksgiving if I don't overeat too much. :D

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate, and just plain Happiness to those who don't!

Hey, it's no secret that people are attracted to bright colors. :D

Gotta admit, I never thought of the possibility that all the crash/ISP problem related posts recently could be scaring off potential players.
