Hello!

I was a player here some years back. Tonight I ran across some old screenshots from when I was still playing and was feeling nostalgic. I fell out of the game due to a combination of real life obligations eating up my time and that I was having an increasingly hard time even getting the client to run on my newer computers.

I really miss this shard, though. I'm pretty painfully shy and as silly as it may seem, my social anxieties extend into my online gaming, but Sylvan Heart was always full of such ridiculously friendly and fun people I never felt like an outsider here. I'm glad to see things still running strong. Of all of the player-run shards I played on, this is the one I miss. Perhaps one day I will be able to come back :)

Happy Holidays to the players I knew then, the players who have come since, and the ever hard-working staff that made Sylvan Heart a great place to play!

Chit-chat / National Novel Writing Month?
November 01, 2009, 04:12:46 AM
Just out of curiosity, anyone else from the shard doing NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org/) this year? Just barely finished last year :)

I'm hoping to not completely fall off the face of the shard because of it this month. Heheh.

General Discussion / The Return of Chibi-Thane
October 20, 2009, 07:34:51 AM
It was unexpectedly requested that I repost this:

http://benwhoski.deviantart.com/art/Chibi-Thane-of-Sylvan-Heart-77803005

Originally had the caption "I gots some 'splodin to do!"

He clearly needs to go on a series of whacky misadventures with his fellow Chibi-Skygods in which hilarious hijinks ensue.

General Discussion / A screenhot: To share the pain

Because after all, if I do, why shouldn't everyone have this image burned, scarringly, into their brains.

So, after having some issues with calling my pets off during pet wars, I decided to make an "all stop" macro to make things simpler and avoid future screw-ups. However, I seem to be completely unable to make "all stop" a macro. It works with all other pet commands just fine, but when I try to use the macro for "all stop" I get absolutely nothing.

Is this a normal thing? I figure it's entirely possible this was something completely deliberate implemented by OSI or something. I'm just wondering if this is true of everybody, or if my copy of UO is just buggy.

Hi! Some of you may remember that I had offered to do drawings of people's characters. Things got really crazy between attending conventions, working, and catching up on the actual paid art commissions, but I'm back on the ball and working on the character pics again.

I finished Kauri's a few weeks ago, actually (hopefully, he doesn't mind my posting it here)

Right now I'm working on Aesa's, and I'll be going on down the line of those who requested one. I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you :)

Hi, all! Some of you know I draw, and that I do a lot of going to conventions (mostly anime conventions, even though most of my artwork is fantasy art that is just influenced by anime) to promote and sell my artwork. I've come to find that most people who ask for commissions at these conventions want drawings of their original characters. I find that the process of drawing someone else's character is different from how I go about drawing my own characters. In addition to getting more practice, I'd like to put together a small portfolio of drawings I've done of other people's characters to show prospective customers as examples.

So, what I am offering are free drawings of anyone's characters to anyone who wants one. Doesn't need to be your UO character, just any character you have that you would like drawn (a couple of my friends are having me draw their WoW and MUD characters). You get a free drawing. I get practice and a portfolio piece. They will likely be done in ink, pencil, and marker, and I'll even mail the original to you after scanning it.

I can't make promises on a time-frame, since I am perpetually a woman of a million projects, but I assure anyone who gets a request in will eventually get the drawing. Just reply here or via PM.

If anyone wants examples of my work so far, follow the DeviantArt link in my signature. Thanks for reading, all! Hope to hear from some of you! :)

Hi, this may be an odd question, but I have some friends who are interested in trying UO, but are Mac users. However, most newer Macs come with an emulator that will allow you to play Windows games. I know at a previous shard I played on, it could be played using a Windows emulator, but that shard had its own custom launch program that you downloaded rather than using UOConnect or UOGateway. The setup here is different. Does anyone know if UOGateway would work on an emulator?

I'm reasonably sure they could play on OSI this way if they really wanted, but that would be much less fun :)
