If something falls out of your bag it's usually because you have too many items in the bag, so when you kill something or mine, the item simply drops on the ground... perhaps you're carrying too many things about with you?

There have been problems in the past with items in people's bags that weren't visible even to staff... If you have a bag (including your backpack) which when absolutely empty (be really sure first) shows more than 0 items, page staff and we'll happily replace the bag with a really empty bag.

Erm.... actually... yep, just not and accept the EULAs.  osx86 on the machine directly, then virtualbox to run the rest... But that's just me being picky!

Questions, Game Problems and Bugs / Re: Mac Users

There are a few ways mac users can play here :

Intel mac users can probably use DarWine, and install UO in it - probably easiest is to use our custom installer (beta) to play, as Gateway and ConnectUO have awkward requirements (IE and .net)
All mac users should be able to install Windows in a piece of software called "Parallels", and whatever windows software they want within that.
Intel mac users can do the same without buying Parallels using VirtualBox
Intel mac users should be able to install XP in dual-boot with OS/X

Parallels costs money, and of course so does XP (which you have to install under Parallels or VirtualBox), so the free option is darwine.

If someone in the UK wants to loan or give me one of those nice shiny intel-based macs I can write a step-by-step for getting the best setup!

P.S. if it's an intel mac, I've "found" something that might be of use, but it isn't legal and I've not finished "looking" at it yet.

For the brave, and those who it might help (vista people possibly) :

Here's one just for you intrepid types :

I've managed to migrate our artwork from verdata.mul to art, anim and gumpart.mul files.  For the non-techies that means we shouldn't have to be tied to the low client.exe version we we have been running (4.0.5b).

The hotpatch is big, but less big than redoing the entire installer, and I want people to feedback in the other thread about any differences they might find.  So far, I note that the login screen and "quest" button on the paperdoll haven't matched.

Instructions : download (torrent or indirect links below), unzip over the existing beta and then delete (or move or rename) the verdata.mul file.

Torrent link : http://www.sylvandreams.co.uk/newpatches/HotPatchClient.torrent
Indirect file link : http://good.net/dl/vkufvg/HotPatchClient.zip

Let the testing commence!

It is a game client only suitable for playing sylvan, on the sylvan server.  If I were you, I would cancel the download because it's only of use if you have an active account.

You can't hotlink to attachments in your googlemail - only because you are logged in can you see them!

How annoying, thanks, fixed.

Could people please wait for direct links from me as if you download whilst I'm still uploading, you'll only be disappointed!

P.S. Should be up to two powerful seeds by now :-)

Two alternatives to bittorrent now, as posted in the other thread :

Quote from: Alder OghamFor those who can't/don't want to use BitTorrent, I have uploaded now to a file host :

http://good.net/dl/vkufvg/InstallSHBeta2.exe

Yep, it's like rapidshare, mediafire et al, but hopefully better than some.

Also, courtesy of Anagami, the following is also a valid copy of the same thing :

Hi guys,

Rather than discussing in the announce thread, let's have feedback over here!

For those following this thread, I have started a new one, as we have entered public beta :

http://www.sylvandreams.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=4626.0

The new beta doesn't differ largely from the version that is already out there if you applied the hotfix, so no need to rush off and test that out unless you haven't downloaded the private beta yet!

And it works with razor too, just need to launch razor latest, hit both browse buttons, pointing them at the new install directory; pop in the host and port, launch and bingo, razor'd up.

I even managed to get razor working under linux (wine) with it!

For those who have been given the .torrent file for the 5.0.4e installer and have installed to the default directory of C:\SylvanHeart, could I ask  that you follow the following :

Download the zip file I've uploaded at http://www.mediafire.com/?dmgmdg1yzyy
extract it's contents to C:\SylvanHeart
double-click the .reg file
then launch from the start menu again and see the difference.

It would appear that the self-contained-ness wasn't quite as successful as I hoped, but the above should fix it.

Thanks again
