stuck on verifying account

i have no idea whats wrong, or what happened
but i am stuck on the verifying account screan, and have been for nearly 45 mins
i am kinda sad...because i can't have my cake and eat it to..*sigh*

This happened for to me for a short while today, but it resolved itself somehow.

i can't get out of the verifying account screan...*sigh*
i think i know what the issue is
i hav a real life friend  who plays on another shard...
he wants me to play on that shard and keep playing on sylvan
but i think they are acting against each other...
patch wise
i know some people in here play on multi-shards
how do you do it?
i need to stay in sylvan, because
i have a family on one charater
im getting married in two weeks on another
but i dont want to hurt my irl friend by not playing on the shard with him
that might help the two of us work alot of things out
why can't i play both *sighs deeply* this sucks
advise?

well if you want to play sylvan and you think the other shard is causing the problem maybe get rid of it? heh X)

If you are using UOGateway to connect there should not be any problems because each set of patches are in their own individual folders.

i use connectUO desktop...i have no idea...other peple can go to different shards..*sighs*  but i am still stuck...
