I need a little help ...

I am a bit new at trying to get the game to work vista..i did everything told on the vista how to message, but i get these messages
in this order
#1
A problem occurred in the progress
Class: cSystem
Function: mnGetDData()
Description: Illegal platform (only WNT, W98 or W95)
Selections:
Abort: Skip the Entire Function
Retry: Try again
Ignore: Skip the Error Code

#2
A problem occurred in the progress
Class: cSystem
Function: mnGetDData()
Description: Error on Creatfile
Selections:
Abort: Skip the Entire Function
Retry: Try again
Ignore: Skip the Error Code

on both of these it tells me to ignore, so i pressed ignored and this is what

#3 is the same as #1
#4 is the same as #2
#5 is the same as #1
#6 is the same as #2

finally it takes me to something that reads
Do you want to add 'sylvan heart' to your local server
i say yes and it opened the server list
its listed
i click on it to start the game there
and then it freezes saying
client.exe has stopped working and forced me to shut it down

anyone have a idea what i can do to help? or fix this..advise on what I've done wrong..
