Client error while starting.

I've fixed my problem with this issue and I'm posting in case others have problems.

Every time the game client started to load, it crashed and the Windows send report message popped up. This error only comes up if i use the client.exe found in the patch client.rar in the following thread: http://www.sylvandreams.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=48.0. Whenever i reinstalled the game, i could run the original version without any problems, and whenever i tried applying these patches it  would stop working again. I don't know if it's a windows update that broke it's functionality, or what happened. I'm using Windows xp, and it's not often that i update, but i know i did recently since i needed some stuff for my Visual C# express.

In order to resolve the issue, I had to set the Compatibility Mode to run under Windows 98 in the Properties > Compatibility for the client.exe file.

I haven't had any problem since, and hope this information helps out anyone running into this problem.
