Thank you!

Hehe just a joke. Don't worry I won't name all my posts that.

So this is a question for any of those who are very familiar with the actual game mechanics for this shard. I know that magic was scripted to be a little different from the information shown on UOStratics so I need someone (possibly a staffer) who knows or understand the scripts to answer the following for me if they can...

On UOStratics it says Inscription when maxed will affect the amount of damage a mage deals as well their focus. Does this apply to here?

Does Anatomy AND Tactics impact Wrestling?

And finally, does Anatomy affect Healing here? Does it affect Veterinary?

Thanks guys! I am trying to make sense between to the two sites and I just want to be sure since I know this place was set up a tiny bit differently.

UO guide.com is also fairly accurate given what is custom on our shard for skill training.  I know we have crafting quests all over the place but I cannot for the life of me remember the alchemy one is........ might need to scour the world for it

So they do exist here? I just have to try and find them? No guides to that huh >.>

There is a skills post in the forums that can aid you. It will tell you what you need to be making alchemy wise to get gains and at what points to change. As far as inscrition goes I can not speak for it. I have played UO off and on since 98 and have never used the that skill. Check the forums good. You can search because I believe that the title of the post is......skill I have used for gains or something of that nature. Hope this helps.

Hmm.. No see I am already at 116... the problem isn't gaining the skill points that wasn't what I was asking.

My questions were related to special quests I had seen mentioned as given by NPCs to get a trophy and recipes. I couldn't find exactly where the NPCs were and I was wondering what else I didn't know. One made mention that it was actually a tinker quest which gave the recipe for one of the alchemy potions.

Let me clean up the questions a bit...
"So my question is this... I am training up her alchemy and in my readings I have seen mention of an Alchemy quest. I checked the UOstratics website but it is a little beyond me   Can someone help me to accomplish this?"

"The same goes for inscription. I am not really understanding how to get the quest etc.. A skill jump to 50 would be grand as it would double what Deva's inscription is at right now."

"As for alchemy potion recipes... are there any books in game that can be purchased which list all the potions that can be made? Is there a quest to get new recipes for more advanced potions than what is showing in the gump window?" Otherwise... alchemists can only make 8 potions?

Hope you can help!

Okay a new slew of questions! *Is really an undercover shard veteran equivalency tester*  ;)

Some have warned me against this, but I will be including Alchemy on Deva (Inscription too) just because it really fits in with her role play even if I can make another character just for crafting. I know this will make her a little weaker in the battlefield, but she's going to be my main gal for role play so if I want to solo hunt I can make another char later for that. Otherwise, I imagine she will mostly be around whoever is online at the time.

So my question is this... I am training up her alchemy (or trying as she seems to eat up all the reagents available!) and in my readings I have seen mention of an Alchemy quest. I checked the UOstratics website but it is a little beyond me  ??? Can someone help me to accomplish this? :-[

The same goes for inscription. I am not really understanding how to get the quest etc.. A skill jump to 50 would be grand as it would double what Deva's inscription is at right now.

As for alchemy potion recipes... are there any books in game that can be purchased which list all the potions that can be made? Is there in fact a quest to get new recipes for more advanced potions than what is showing in the gump window?

Any special things/recipes I should know about either Inscription or Alchemy? Anything you guys can share to help me will be awesome! I hope if Deva earns her master's trust she might set up a merchant at his home. I did a run through of all the player run shops and I can see what was meant by a small economy! I want to help liven things up a bit :D

Thanks in advance!

Roleplay Discussion / the Wonders of a New Life

Deva stretched, slowly bending this way and then that way. Every muscle feels stiff to her and she has convinced herself that skin can hurt too without being cut! Deva's soft and pliant body was not accustomed to physical labor of this sort. Leisurely walks through the forest which even hunger could not hasten was the best of her acquaintance... until now. The farmstead still bore the look of too many years but clean as it could be! with every fallen log loped back into place. The cleaning had been the worse of it. Small Deva clung fearfully to the wall as she scaled the fences within the barn to free the rafters of all that had acquired there. The trough had want of scrubbing after Orc urine had soiled the water for the horses. If anything happened to one of her master's creatures... he would be sure to dismiss her! It was with great kindness and reluctance that she was accepted. The repairs would not have been troublesome for any experienced farmhand as Lord Ardin Redhawk kept well his stables, but for Diva who had never held a hammer in her hands there was many a sore finger sucked while tears coursed silently down her cheeks. 'This is my chance' she repeated time and again to herself, 'I will only have one.' Lord Redhawk's absence convinced the young girl it had been done deliberately as a test of her dedication with no ready guidance before the true lessons began! Though the truth be told, this was all in her mind. The house might have fallen in around her so deep was her sleep as any who exerts themselves to excess daily and she would not have known. Surely then, had Lord Redhawk entered the home, even with her sleeping on the plush couch of the terrace adjoined to the master bedroom she would never be the wiser. Still, this thought gave her determination when all else failed. Deva would not disappoint her Lord and teacher... deliberately that is.

Deva gave one last good attempt at a complete stretch before turning away from the stable. With the sun setting, it was time for her nightly bath in the local stream. She would not entertain the thought of so much as setting foot in her Lord's home as filthy as the work left her. Deva had not chained herself to the house however, far be it! She had seen adventure for the first time! She met all manner of person, each as interesting as the last... save the Orc. That her Lord looked upon him fondly was a credit to his noble and honorable heart. Curiosity gave way to revulsion and no more could she look upon the Orc until finally he ambled off. A lovely woman who was not really a woman but a man once upon a time and the man that was her brother but not so as they were married were kind and patient with the wide-eyed Deva. She had tried to help the one called 'Festus' as she grappled with the crippling fear that at times left her mute... and a mute mage is of use to no one. Still this kind lady/man plied her with compliments most wonderful when the third joined their gathering.

Something exciting was happening to Deva since leaving the wood. She was meeting new and interesting people. She had managed to enter the service of a good and wise Lord. She had visited lands she never dreamed existed and stood in battle with those who were surely legends of the land! But above all... the power within her awakened. Tasks she had not thought herself capable of were easily met under the gentle instruction of Festus. She could now travel the world by use of her own magic! Deva too could vanish in the blink of an eye as she had seen so many do before! Deva hoped as she waded into the cold waters that night that the green fire would not follow her... that something good could come of her life despite the monster she knew herself to be.

Wonderful! Thanks for the heads up I definitely will!

I have had the pleasure of running into a few role players only I meant that I wish there were more. And while I feel that way, I am so grateful for the patience the non-role players show me.

We will have to meet up some time!

Hey!

I am all in game and on the start of my journey with Deva!!! And oh my goodness everyone is so sweet and nice! I wish more were role players but they still tolerate me not breaking character with great patience when it would be obviously much easier to explain things in OOC (out of character) I am so thrilled to be here and I can't wait to be able to contribute back! Thank you for making me so happy and welcomed all!

Hi all!

Trying to get in game, I wonder if there is a chat room where everyone congregates? I haven't been able to find it if there is  ???

Can someone please let me know if it matters what version of ultima online I use? Thanks!
