In the Hidden mountains there was an uprising. The drow had finally had enough of the ruling royal crown. The uprising was fast and brutal, and quickl as it started had it already ended.
The sole surviving member of the royal crown, A young Urchin named Thorn Nightshade, a smart girl with a tongue as sharp as her name. She had managed to get out of the royal house unscathed and undetected. Her will to avenge her family did not exist, for she truly did not like them much anyways and in true drow manner, she left it all behind to go in search of other ways to cause troubles.
On a dark misty night, A howling gale blew...strong and mysterious. Such a gale that had only been heard of in stories of the Mysterious Trilenium gateway, a magical doorway thru the undead lands, where warriors can test their steel against undead spirits in their quest for eternal life. A tale once told to a young thorn. She wandered intrusively forward, smelling for the scent of fresh blood...seeking fun and adventure, and the thrill of a hunt. What she found was an army of footsoldiers wavering before her,  real   yet unreal.  There but nowhere.  Thrusting her trusty dagger forward into them  did nothing more than cause a shimmering effect and their blades did nothing to her.  Then she saw the unreal image of a shimmering faintly glowing closed doorway.  As the drow cannot contain their sense of excitement of potential battle, forward she went to try and open the doorway.
She opened her eyes, It as as if she had just walked thru the doorway, Unaware of her surroundings, unaware of the hundreds of dead corpses surrounding her...unaware that she was untouched.
Thorn wandered thru the ghastly plains of the undead, Demolishing all the foul fiends with a girlish shriek of joy as they fell before her. This was indeed the place that the stories were about, but where did it lead her to? Where was she to go to find the doorway out? For weeks she travelled thru the stinking lands before she finaly saw the light. a beaming tower of in the distance....And a roadway with a stark warning written in blood afore it.  " Pass ye and Judgment shall be laid upon ye "
Thorn Was elated at finding her way there...and was soon met by wave upon wave of footsaoldiers, but now their blades were glowing and dripping with gunge...they were hurting her and she now had to battle her judges. Long were the battles, Footsoldiers, Horse warriors, dragons and beings unknown to any Drow kind. But battle was what she did, it was her essence of life, the thrill of the fight. Finally having defeated the last of the Phantom warriors, did she then realize the extent of her troubles.  She had been judged by the undead and had been deemed acceptable to join them. Never would she be allowed to leave this horrible torturous place. Never will she have one day of rest....no time left to her to try to survive.  She ran to the white glowing temple as its light started to dwindle, smaller and smaller,   but faster she ran.
As she aproached the now rapidly dissapearing light, she fell down. Desperate to survive she hurled her royal blade at the fading light...What happened next she is not sure...All that is known by the drow about the doorways is held in the ancient tower of the royal house,  all except the sacred stone held by the royal heir. The story of the key turned out to be true,  Fables of childhood held some esteem after all.  She had escaped the terror of the ghastly undead lands and now faced a strange new world...but...what price was their to pay for the great escape.... she was thrust thru the doorway with a resounding crash....and the doorway was exploded open,  allowing all to cross its threshold......
