Roleplay Discussion / The Legend of Kydaer Shol
October 27, 2007, 09:35:03 PM
To all who have known the sky god, some really do not know the story behind the gusts of frigid air.......Kydaer Shol was an Eleven  Goddess of wind that was banished to the North.....

The story began when she fell in love with a mortal man whom did not love her in return.... He loved another with all his heart and she became very jealous of this fact and set out to destroy them both. They went to a mysterious witch that said she could help them escape from Kydaer....

Kydaer hearing of the plot, set forth and froze the old witch placing her where they could not find her. She then transformed into the old witch just in time as the young couple came upon her doorstep. Kydaer gave them two shining crystals and said that if they vowed their love togeter over the crystals, they would be able to keep their love forever. The couple excitedly thanked her and ran off to do just that.

They came upon a clearing by a beautiful waterfall. Thinking that this was a perfect spot and away from danger at the moment, dismounted and laid out a blanket. Each sat down with their gleaming crystals and looked each other in the eye and said the vows of love to each other. The crystals began to glow very brightly with each passing word and a halo of light begain to surround them.

As the light grew brighter, the couple's eyes began to widen as they felt their essence slowly leave their fragile bodies and descend back to the crystals.  As their bodies began to fall helplessly to the blanket, a look of realization came over their eyes as they knew that they had been tricked.

Coming out of the clearing after watching the whole scenario, Kydaer began to transform back to her original body with each step she took. Looking down at the two creatures that had brought her so much pain, she smiled at them and whipsered, "Now ye shall have yer love forever". With that, she knelt, softly picked up the crystals, and with a gust of wind, vanished.

When Kydaer returned to her home, everyone had heard of what had happened. They were furious with her for breaking the rules of God/mortal interaction and decided she must be punished for this.  A meeting was called at which Kydaer was summoned immediately.  As not to further anger the Gods, Kydaer went at once not even taking the time to hide the crystals.

Kydaer was quickly informed of the seriousness of her actions and was told that she was to be banished to the North for that must be what her heart tis made of. Fuming as she returned to her home, she soon discovered that that was not all that was to be taken from her. The crystals had vanished. Wailing and ranting she flung herself out of the door screaming for her crystals. With a flash of blue, she had been transported........ Crying for the love, family, and crystals lost, Kydaer is said to walk the northerly region only being seen when someone is in trouble or dying, for she loved to see mortals suffer.

The crystals soon became a lore among the mortals as well. When given two shiney crystals at a wedding, in it were to be the lovers two souls that bless the marriage and make their love last forever.

*Editor's note: this is just a story, not Eleven  lore. This is also why she gives out the crystals at weddings*

Events / The Wanderer's Quest........
July 26, 2007, 05:30:16 AM
Alrighty my fellow shardmates.... Acacia gave a great idea on a new Scavenger hunt! So after a couple of weeks worth of working on it, Gael and I  have come up with a mondo Scavenger Quest. Starting the 1st of August, there will be a quest book in the event center. Pick this up to start the quest. You can only do this quest one time! You must figure out where the item and location is, gather the item and that will complete that part of the quest where you will recieve a bag. There will be another book somewhere around that  location to give you clues to the next location.  That being said, do not try to skip a step or you might lose out....

There are 20 quests out there. With the 20th being the big prize winner...... So everyone can be a winner! You are able to do this in a party situation. However, you can not give items to anyone else since you will only get one and will perhaps need them for the next hehe *you will have to see to find out*......This quest will go on for one week and will end August 8th.

Good luck to you all and hope you have fun with this one, it should be a doozy!
