The original laptop I had the game installed on wouldn't work due to hardware issues and a broken screen, so I was going to download the game onto my old desktop that has Windows XP still, unlike my laptop that had Windows 7. But I'm sure that doesn't matter which version of windows it is. What is happening that I need help with is when I try to use the SH_installer on my desktop, it shows in a little pop- up that the file contains invalid data?! Maybe my computer is just a dope, but I'd like to figure out what the problem is so I can continue to play with my friends. :(

Try downloading it again. Maybe it just did not download it all or something unless you have already
I tried downloading multiple times from different browsers to no avail. So I just got Trixy to zip up the files off of her computer and put them on a usb of mine. Then I just copy and pasted all the Sylvan files to my computer and was able to play again! :) Still now sure what happened with the installer... but it doesn't matter any more. I'll just leave it to that I'm not a computer whiz. haha All that matters is that I can play again. ;D

There is indeed something wrong with the installer as Awhile back I had the same problem and had to use a Zip file that was sent to me. Hmmm Maybe someone can check into it?
I think the installer that is for download on the site is fine, but that when it gets downloaded sometimes it gets corrupted. I'm not sure why, but I don't think it's a problem with the installer.
I Had the same problem you have to drag the SH_instaler.Exe ON YOUR DESKTOP!!! than open it that worked for me but i'm running windows 7 but I'm not sure if it works on windows XP
