There are two nice wedding chapels with gates provided under the tent in Mag.

Well My lovely friends Please keep sending suggestions as i am not going to be able to Marry My beloved Stroem this saturday as the Mundain world has killed another part of my fun.. My computer took a dive Early Thursday morning.. making Wednesday my last day on Sylvan for a bit.. I have to take it in or find some one to look it over and figure out what is wrong with it..

If any of you that play are well versed in Computers i am getting a message that says i have no input from my computer to my monitor.. I am really hoping it wasnt the hard drive.. but it just doesnt reboot..

Or if there is a way to run UO gateway from a computer that is fully patched to EA games version of UO i can likely borrow this computer which is my mothers.. and play still until mine is fixed..

Any info reguarding this is most welcome and thank you.

Anika Rosewood

For the EA patching thing.. remove the current patches from the UO install and then re-patch up to 5.06 or so and stop.

Note that if some one else is still playing pay UO ignore that advice and I have no suggestions.

I believe Marlenus has said in the past that it is okay to be fully patched up with EA Games/OSI and play on Sylvan.  It is other private shards you may have issues with.

Quote from an earlier Marlenus post
I have been just fine using the latest OSI patches and connecting using UOGateway and/or ConnectUO while running Windows XP as well as Windows Vista.

1. Check your cables from monitor to computer  Make sure and unplug and replug.
2. Totally unplug power to both units and repower up
3.  Could be  Video card or monitor or Motherboard or Power Supply

I have a similar issue happening with mine on and off  because the Power Supply is acting up.

Always try the simple things first then have a pro look at it.

Good Luck

Well i tried looking at the cords and have unplugged it etc.. it all turns on.. just doesnt seem to send anything to the monitor.. I just tried down loading everything to my mothers computer and i got the message saying there is no UO Client and truth be told my mother was just playing UO the other day she has it fully installed on her computer so if we have any idea's i even went back through the forums here and was reading the way to install UO Gateway.. and i am not sure what i am doing wrong..

Maybe if i read a bit more i will find the answer.. but if some one could steer me in the right direction it would help me faster i would forever love them.

Thank you all so much,
Anika

P.S. i just get  you all back and in a blink of an eye i loose you all over again.. *sighs*

ok, sounds like you might have a video driver issue for the glitch between your monitor and your computer, I would recomend trying to start in safe mode and see if it works. As far as installing UOgateway and getting it to work on another machine, this post I have followed to the letter like 4 times now and it has always worked for me, so give that a try. Good luck and hope to see you in game soon.

Im not a computer expert, but I usually end up fixing things by fiddling with them and using a bit of common knowledge.

First of all you'd have to narrow down the problem by a process of elimination, since it could be as Skynar mentioned, one of a few things:
1. Cable Problem
2. Video Card/Power Supply/Monitor Problem - therefore a hardware problem
3. Software Problem
4. Heat

We have to eliminate these things one by one, so for No. 1, I suggest taking out all the cables from your computer and attempting to use them to connect your mother's PC up, if everything is still functional, its not number 1.

As for No. 2, try moving your mother's monitor to your PC and connecting that up, and moving your own monitor to your mothers. If your own monitor works on your mother's PC but your mother's computer monitor doesnt work on yours, its a Video Card/Power supply problem! At this point I suggest either hiring a professional or a friend who is knowledgable with computers and will help you.
If you have a PCI graphics card i.e. NOT integrated (if it is integrated, oh dear you might need a new motherboard. Seek a professionals help, or just buy a new CPU hehe) theres still some hope! See if you can swap out the PCI graphics card with another computer's PCI graphics card - MAKE SURE YOU'RE EITHER GROUNDED OR WEAR AN ANTI STATIC WRIST STRAP WHEN YOU DO THIS! (also make sure you're holding the PCI card by the edges). You need to do this since even the tiniest static from your skin could fry the chips on the card. Now with the swapped PCI card, connect it all back up and if it STILL doesnt work its a power supply problem. At this point its time to visit your nearest computer store and buy a new power supply. I suggest you get a professional to connect this up for you, since mis-handling the power supply can give you a nasty shock even if your PC isnt connected :(

Ok, it still doesnt work! :(, it could be a software problem caused by one of many things. Possbily might be a video driver problem, which you really cant fix due to the monitor not wanting to work hehe. At this point it would be a good idea to seek the help of a professional.

Another problem could be heat, I've had a recent problem due to overclocking my PC, it sorta just died hehe. But later I set it back down to normal and let it rest for a while, and the next day, TADA! It was working! It was most likely a heat problem, maybe if you let your PC cool down a bit, there might be some hope. However, if heat was the problem, then theres also the added possibility of the heat damaging some part or chip, in which case we would refer to No. 2.

Hehe that was a long post, I tried to make it as clear as possible (as one can early in the morning o.O), if you have any questions, feel free to ask! We hope to see you back soon on the shard!
