Title: Communicating with Origin
Post by: deidyomega on February 27, 2009, 03:12:18 AM
"There is a problem communicating with Origin. Please restart Ultima Online and try again."

So i naturally followed its advice, exited both uo and uogateway, and reloaded gateway, hit silvenheart, and same error message...

Any tips?

Hmm, that sounds odd :S sounds like your clients trying to connect to the OSI servers.

Are you sure you are connecting to:
IP: jhs59.homeip.net
Port: 1980

You can check by clicking the little paper icon next to the sylvan heart option in your gateway. Also double check that there are NO spaces at the end of the IP address or the port (you won't be able to see if there is or isnt a space, you'll just have to delete whats in there and retype it).

Keep us updated

I think that is a "standard" message that is incorporated in the the UO game itself when there is some connection issue.  That basically means it isn't getting through to the server machine for whatever reason.  Do check your  IP address and port as Abbadon suggested.  Also, where are you connecting from, your own home, a college?  There are some places that have blocked access to things like Sylvan.

Aye it is the general message when the server is having a problem and cannot connect

seems wierd its saying problems connecting to origin and just not the standard not able to connect message, so others getting this error message as well then or is it isolated to a few people?
