So, when I logged in yesterday, all the crops I had planted were gone. Came as quite a surprise.
I can certainly understand wanting to have crops expire, but is (guessing) 2 weeks a reasonable time frame?
There doesn't seem to be a land rush on arable land, so why such a short duration?
Hmm I would think the shard crash yesterday might have affected it somehow?
I would guess one of two things. Either the shard crash as Abadon said, or you don't have enough lumberjacking and they withered and died. Lumberjacking is required to plant a crop that will grow.
They planted and grew correctly and I was able to harvest them. I have 100+ Lumberjacking.
The crops I planted with a character with no lumberjacking also grew correctly, and disappeared at the same time.
We'll go with the server crash for now :)
Not been in-game for a while, but do remember that crops planted must be on your own land... planting in plantable soil in say Haven does not protect them from orcs, trolls and other nasties coming along and destroying them!
