Title says it all my friends tried using Bushido today.. Couldn't do so with out a weapon. Perhaps a weapon that has channeling and can be used as a weapon such as a flute being blunt or etc. you get the idea :)
Hmm I'm not sure how bashing a mobs head in with a flute would do much. And yes you need a weapon to use bushido, but why do you need a instrument as a weapon? You can just hold some sort of macing weapon, and use bushido and musicmanship without getting disarmed. As for channeling you can either get a weapon that already has some sort of channel on it, or socket it with a Fen (I think?) rune or use a Spell channeling deed on it.
I would say mainly for roleplay.. Seeing a bard come in with instrument held in hand is cool imo. However, not nessarily needed for a weapon to bash with but being that you need a weapon to cast bushido evasion.
