Title: The Iron Wolves - A Mercenary Guild

Hiya! It's me again! with the same guild! still hoping it will grab some attention.  :P  I won't write out the whole guild outline here again. I've done it twice now... it's reallt long and you're probably tired to looking at it. So straight to the point. The guild will be up and running as soon as i can get it all organised and sort everything out. Right now i'm looking for anyone who might be interested in joining. As a basic rule of thumb is that as mercenaries we work for money, doing whatever it is the client wants us to do + pays us for. We are nor evil nor good. So anyone can join!  ;D  If you wish to join, or you have questions you want to ask. Please feel free to post them here or PM me or contact me in game (i go by the same name in game "KukoShaku") I will update the guild happenings and what not here. ALSO, anyone who wishes to use our services, you too can post here, PM me or message in game. Rightyo, I don't think i've missed anything out. If i have let me know and i'll set it straight again.

Hiya, yeah! Ok!   ;D  I won`t be able to do it untill this sunday though.... i have exams and uni stuff to do. BUt once sunday come, i should be able to come online   :)  Was there anything in particular you wanted to know about the guild? I can answer all questions here   :D  I can`t play untill sunday though    :-[  sorry, it should even out once exams finish... so maybe mid-next week i`ll be on uo more often   :)

If you join the guild you will be given as much help as we can. You will be paid for your services and for the jobs you do. If there are no jobs to do and no wars - ie. no clients. You are free to do things on your own. There are a couple of exceptions, like when we run tournaments and things like that, but i will let everyone know about those in advance. Also being in this guild, you get to play for either good and evil (who ever pays better). During wars between good and evil, our guild may be hired by another guild to help them in battle. Then later, an opposing guild may pay us MORE money and they'll have our loyalty. This would also create panic in the (now) enemies guild. This guild gives that extra bit of danger and makes things more interesting.  ;D

The guild itself exists to "help" people for a price. So if someone is ever in trouble, they can come to us for help and if they have the money, they get help. If you are within the guild, those services are free to you. One of the jobs we do for example is corpse recovery. Should a guild member fall somewhere, someone (from the guild) will go and help them recover their corpse. For a non-member, this sort of service will carry a cost. This guild is more relaxed then some of the other guilds, as long as you don't damage the guild (ie. just follow some basic rules) and follow orders from your superiors (should you have any) you're pretty much left to your own thing. Oh, by orders i mean when there's a client and either your captain or one of the elders tells you to do that particular job. Also, you don't have to know much about UO or have played it for a certain time to earn a higher ranking place. In this guild, strength matters most. So if you're strong enough, you can rise through the ranks faster. We'll have some tournaments once we have a few more members. Those tournaments will determine who is Lowest Rank (looking for a cool name still), Captain and Elite Guard. The Elders will be picked by me, because the elders do all the admin jobs. So they'll have to be people who know quite a bit about UO and what not. [just off the topic, how long have you been playing UO?  hehehehehe  :P] Then as the guild grows larger and we have a steady income, the guild will help you build your house(s) and equip you. Also, i this guild we take all races and all karma types. So you are free to choose your race and your good vs evil stance.

Here's what i can do... i finished my exams till thursday... so i'll write up the whole guild out line (again  :P)  it will hopefully explain more   ;D  and you can make up your mind on whether or not you'd like to join us!!   :)   So here goes....

Mercenary Guild for UO â€" [Iron Wolves]]

Leader â€" Me
3 Elders â€" [to be voted in by me]
Elite Guard â€" [To be fought for / appointed]

Squads:
Captain â€" [To be fought for]
3 Squad members â€" [lowest ranking members]

HANDY JOB LIST:
Protection (1) â€" We help you MF, Doom Gauntlet run(s), or what ever you feel like doing at the time. Initial 3000 to start + additional 50% of the gold drop.
Protection (2) â€" Corpse recovery. We help you retrieve your corpse. 2000 gold + if we have to kill monsters around your corpse, we keep the loot off those monsters.
Escort Service 1st degree â€" 1000 - 3000 for protection against low â€" mid level monsters (from point to point)
Escort Service 2nd degree â€" 3000 â€" 10,000 Protection against mid â€" high level monsters (from point to point)
Escort Service 3rd degree â€" 20,000 Protection against players (during war, or other wise â€" from point to point for one player).
Escort Service 4th degree â€" 10,000 Protection against Champion Monsters and uber hard monsters. (Like ones Oak throws in from time to time)
**All Prices are negotiable, the prices here are just to give you an idea. These services are basics ones, clients can come and ask us to do what ever they need doing (in these situations the Elders or Me will decide on an appropriate price for the job/mission)


DURING GUILD WARS: [Prices are not set - these just give you an idea of what to expect. They will be negotiated over]
Basically work as Mercenaries, to boost client’s numbers for a time. (Payment HALF upfront and the rest once the task is complete. The squad captain will decide when the task is complete. Keep half if we fail/contract ends before the job/task is complete)
Hire a squad(s) to do any job â€"30,000 for one squad THEN additional 10,000 for each extra squad. The Squad(s) does the job it was hired to do and comes back to the Guild for their next orders.
Bonus Pack! â€" 500,000 â€" 600,000 involves all squads (exc. Elders, Elite Guard and myself).
Loyalty to the person(s) who pays the most.
May help one guild at the beginning, then if offered more money for our services by an opposing guild. Our loyalties will switch! May act as sleepers. To find out if you have sleepers in the guild and remove them will cost 300,000 (payment up front â€" truth told) Each time you want the truth known, it’ll cost 300,000

HOW TO BECOME A CLIENT
Way1 â€" PM One of the Elders or Me. To set up a time for a meeting, then show up at the set time.
Way2 â€" Come to our guild and speak with the Elders or myself directly.
NOTE: cannot approach squad members or captains.

You need to provide us with the following information: [All negotiable - So, if you wish to keep something private... we understand  ;)]
Your name, your reason for needing our help, the type of help you require, how you wish to pay us for the service (payment is excepted in gold, valuable items or land. In any combination), the length of time you need assistance for (approx.) and who or what is the target/enemy.


THE GUILD:
All profits will go into the guild treasury, for guild and member use. Any items are free within the guild to guild members only. Items will be given to guild members on a need basis. Items can be sold to and bought from other guilds / people. (once the guild has a stable income)

To join the guild you will have to message me. Later you can also message the Elders. You do not have to be good or evil, anyone can join and any race. As long as you want to join us. The Official language spoken within the Guild is English. However, if you want you can speak what ever language amongst your squad / group.

Each squad should have at least ONE healer / someone who can heal.
All squads will be named by the Captain of each squad and once the name has been chosen, the Captain must report it to either the Elders or me.

Rank advancement for role of CAPTAIN
[At the start] All new members will be put into groups of 4. Then each group will divide into 2 pairs. The two people will duel each other, with the winner advancing to the next stage. Once there is a winner from each pair, the two winners will duel each other. The winner becoming the Captain. (You only have one chance at this at the start, so make it count) The losers of the duel(s) will become the squad members (Lowest ranking) --- Then later on any squad member may challenge the Captain for the title. To do this you must first approach either the Elders or myself and state:
Your squad name, name of your Captain, approx. time that person has been Captain for and your intention. One of us will decide if it is alright for you to challenge your Captain. NOTE: you cannot keep challenging the Captain. You may challenge the Captain once again should you fail the first time in a month’s time. The next challenger for the title has to wait a week before he can challenge for the title. ALSO, a person has to be Captain for a certain amount of time before you can challenge them. Unless the Captain appointed goes against the wishes of the Elders or myself. In which case, there will be another tournament within the squad for the title of Captain

Advancement for the Role of ELITE GUARD
Once there are enough members in the guild, there will be a tournament that will be open to all members that wish to participate, excl. the Elders and Me. This even will be posted up for 2 weeks for entries. Then in a couple of days once we’ve organized who will duel who. The TOURNAMENT will begin. There are 5 places for the role of ELITE GUARD. So the top 10 duelists will get the spot. Then this even will be held once every month. Where the tournament is split into two parts. The first part is again open to all members. The members will duel each other until the top 5 members remain. Then the top 5 challengers will be paired with an Elite Guard (defender). They will then duel, with the winner receiving the title of Elite Guard.

Advancement for the Role of ELDER
At the beginning I will choose 3 people who have played the game the longest. Once every 2 months there will be a chance for the Elders to vote for whom should be replaced. That time is the only opportunity to vote, unless there’s an emergency where an Elder leaves or betrays the guild. In which case a new Elder will be chosen from the guild members. At the time of voting only the Elders are allowed to vote. Unless they cannot reach an agreement, in which case I will step in and vote. If an Elder is voted out, the elder will be given a chance to stay within the guild if they are able to defeat one member from the guild. That member will be chosen by the remaining Elders from the Elite Guard to the lowest ranking members. Should the voted out Elder be able to defeat the chosen member in a duel, he/she may stay within the guild and will be reduced to lowest rank. Should they fail to defeat the chosen member, the voted out Elder will be exiled. [extreme case! hopefully we don't have to apply it. I personally don't like kicking people out]


ROLES WITHIN THE GUILD:
Guild Master (Me) â€" Look after the guild. Accept job offers from clients. Settle disputes should there be any. Announce and set up tournaments and events. Reward members for excellent service. Day to day guild admin work. Approve / disapprove challenges. Answer questions. More or less the same as an Elder

Elders (3) â€" Accept job offers from clients. Set up events and tournaments. Approve / disapprove challenges. Enforce guild rules. Issue orders to Captains. Receive payment for jobs from Captains. Issue guild members with equipment and/or gold. Decide who gets what. Answer questions.

Elite Guards (5) â€" Protect the Elders and me. When ever an Elder or I travel anywhere the Elite Guards must accompany. Minimum 1 guard acting as escort, 2 should escort, 3 escort maximum. In an event of Guild War, the Elite Guards are prohibited from joining in the fighting. Their primary task is the safety of the Elders and the Guild Master. (Also protect our ally guild)

Captains (x) â€" Issue orders to the members in the squads. Collect payment for job from the client(s). Decide when a particular job is finished. Pass the payment onto the Elders. Make sure the mission is carried out. Answer simple questions, doesn’t give out too much information. Ensures that the squad members follow the rules.

Squad Members (x) â€" Follow orders (if there are any). Do not talk about the guild and/or any operations and/or missions. Sometimes may have to work on their own depending on the task at hand.


Guild Colours: (With in the guild house, everyone must wear their respective colour to show their rank.)
Leader (me) â€" Blue Robes
Elders â€" Green Robes
Elite Guard â€" Red Robes
Captains â€" White Robes
Squad members â€" Black Robes

wow. this sounds pretty cool. I might even join on a secondary character. Idk how well this idea would work tho on a shard like sh. It would be better suited to one with more players and more competing guilds. defently interesting tho!

Yeah, I had some spare time while i wasn't playing UO (for reasons beyond my control). So i started thinking about what could be done to spice things up. A little, i know that SH doesn't have THAT many players or guilds. That's fine, because i've taken all of that into account. So this guild doesn't need to be big to work effectively. But of course should it become big (i hope it does someday), the guild is flexible enough to change. The idea of squads was made for when the guild gets bigger, so that the management of the guild becomes easier (Captains come in here). While the guild is rather young and small, I and the Elders should be enought to keep everything in check. As for other guilds who may or may not wish to use our services... This guild is set up to help people, while keeping to RP rules. I know that not all guilds, are big and if those guilds go to war they have a very hard time. So by hiring us, they would instantly boost their guild numbers giving them an advantage. Now, i know i said that we work for who ever pays us the most. And that is true, but i hav set up the hiring prices in a way to give people some security over what they pay for. People tend to think that if someone gives me 100 gold to work for them and then an opposing player gives me 105 gold, i will switch loyalties. That is wrong, in many cases the opposing client will have to pay double or triple the original amount. Plus the opposing client has no idea what the original amount was, and since all prices are negotiable... us accepting the opposing client's offer is very small. This guild could also be used in some cunning ways, like hiring the guild and then telling the guild to wait for an offer from the opposition and accept it... then once in the guild of the opposition, spring the trap. (there are way around it and they are explained in the outline). Also, players on their own could ask us for help. If a player falls victim somewhere, and there's no one to help. We can come to the rescue  :)  again all of it is explained in the outline.

Don't worry about being strong at the moment. The guild is very young at the moment, because i cannot play often and for very long at the moment. So you have time to get strong. Then once the guild is set up and running, we'll help our younger (weaker) members get strong. Also, we accept all players because we're not a PvP guild good only during war. We help with PvM as well as PvP, and we send the right person for the job at hand. So it doesn't really matter what your Char build is. We can always use an extra person for something.  :D

I only have one character. His name is KukoShaku. At the moment i don't have a lot of playing time because i have to travel out to an icafe to play every sunday night. So i can be hard to reach at the moment. I am however, looking to fill in the Elder Role(s) quite quickly. Just so it's easier on me and for those who want to join, so they don't have to wait untill i'm on again on sunday night. I should will try to be online on saturday night AND on sunday night... exams are over and i wanna celebrate with some UO-ing   :P  hehehehe

Oh, because i don't have a lot of playing time... i still have to set up the guild... ie. buy the stone and get my dirt patch back   :P  But that should all be complete within about an hour of me playing   :D  So, no worries there!  :)

Because i don't have a lot of playing time... about 4 hours a week. A friend or mine will help me train up my character, using a macro from his computer. So my character will be online but I won't be. So if you have questions, it's better if you send PM to me here or post it in the forums.

I (as in me) will be online this sunday night, and i will announce it over general chat that it is me. So if you like you can message me in game then. I will try to be online this saturday as well. If i am not online this saturday, i will post it here to let everyone know. SUNDAY is a given!

Hiya, just an update on whats happening at the moment. I have finished my exams!  woohoo! and everything looks set for me to finally get back on UO!!   :o  Also, I have starter to plan what the guild house will look like. I will draw it up floor by floor and post it up here for you guys to have a look. There's nothing secret, because the clients will also have to know what the guild looks like to find the right floor. I'm thinking to build a 4 floor guild house. This is what i'm planning on doing:

1st floor: The entrance and where the members and the clients can choose where to go. Everything will be labled, so don't worry.  ;)

2nd floor: This will be my private room. This is where i will live. So is off limits to all. (with some exceptions.. like the elders and a few close friends)

3rd floor: will be designed as the reception area for the clients. You will also find one of the elders or myself there. So if anyone needs some help with, this is the floor you need to go to.

4th floor: This wil be made into a tournament ring. If you wish to challenge someone, or someone challenges you (and you accept it) this is where you will fight it out. Also, i will hold a few events here as well. A friend is going to kindly donate some vicious animals ie. he's going to sic them on you, so we can have gladiator style matches. Once we have some more income, we may open it as an event and have prizes for the winners. But for now it'll just be for guild members. I am also thinking of using this sort of tournament for new members that may wish to join, instead of having a run or a hunt. But that will be at a much later stage. I will build the arean with space for some spectators to watch the fights  :)

So, whatcha guys think? I'd love to hear some feed back on this idea for a guild house. Any suggestions or improvements you guys (and girls) might like to add?  :)

Just another update.

I have managed to play OU last Saturday and sunday.  ;D  I have set up my patch of dirt and have got a guild stone set up on the dirt (for now). I have also started to save up money for the guild house... i'm at 50k at the moment   :)  hehehehe  i should be on again this sunday (i will try for a saturday as well - will let you all know if that will happen). So yeah, so far i'm going strong AND i already have 1 member in the guild!  :o (current guild population = 2)  :)  hehehehe  I will start drawing up some plans for the guild house, soon (maybe in a couple of hours or so). If you want, you can either post here or pm or email me your ideas  :)  So the ball has finally started rolling!!  woohoo!!   ;D ;D

- Those that want, you guys (and girls) can now join this guild officially. Got a guild stone and what not (as said above). I know that it is difficult for some of you to be on during the same time as me. Given i can only play sunday (saturday if i'm lucky) and only between 6pm and 9pm(ish). So what i think i will do is have Kevetsa's new(ish) char promoted to Elder for a short while (or a long while depending if he likes the job or not). So you all who want to join, can. This should save a lot of headache for everyone.  :)

On that note, if anyone wants to join the Iron Wolves let me know in game and I'll try get around to adding you to the guildstone. As you may have guessed however Kev is still me main character so don't expect too much companionship from myself or Kuko for now.

Just an update on what's up. I was online yesturday... but the server didn't like me (and many other people) at that time, so i wasn't able to play some UO [well, SH anyway] Today, i'll be online again in about 4 hours time  :D can't wait! Will continue hording gold and what not to build the guild house  :) 

Oh, I was also told by Kevetsa that there is a new member in my guild!  :) So, i was wondering who is our new member? If you don't mind please post something here. I just want to say "Hi, how are you?" and "nice to have you with us!"   :D

We have some people leaving the dorm, so there's a farewell party for them today and tomorrow a friend is taking me somewhere (i'm not sure if it's all day or just for a an hour or two) once i know more details i'll let everyone know  :)

Hello, i used to play on sylvan a whille back, and now im starting all over. My main character will be an Archer/Tamer. my name in game will be Murphy Ironclaw (when the server is back up for me to create it! what a time to rejoin >.>) and i was reading up on this guild of yours and would very much like to join, although i dont know if you'll take brand new chars..  :-\

Heh heh, Kuko pretty much is a new character, given he has massively limited play time I'd guess 90% of his time online is me macroing his skills up to a usable level.

If you see Kevetsa Kusuroth/Irukanjii/Smitt (note the double t, there's a Smit here too) give me a shout and I'll sign you up. Most guilds here employee the 'anyone can join, it'll just take longer to gain ranks' approach.

Aye. i dont have a problem with you joining as a new player, as long as you have had some previous UO experience. I dont mind answering shard related question like where does everyone hang out at (mag meadows). But i would not be interested in having a guild mate who asks "How do i send a page to staff?"

(trust me that has happened before :(   )

But if you have some understanding about how the game in general operates then feel free to apply for membership.

Jolly good. As stated beofre, don't expect to see too much of the guildmaster Kuko, but you can at least keep Shanerous company now.

Hopefully in the near future there'll be jobs out for the Wolves, so if you need any help getting up to speed give me a yell and I'll do what I can to help ya.

Hiya! it's me! ;D Sorry to be away from the forums for a bit there. We had farewell parties... more and more of them + random people have finished exams and they're all dragging me out to do stuff. Now that i'm more or less back on the forums...  Welcome Murphy Ironclaw!  :D Glad to have you with us! Don't worry about having a new char  :) there'll be things for you to do and participate in as well :) we won't ask a new char to go and help kill some dragons / rune beetles or something that over their head  :P So you're safe there  :) Hope to see you in game some time!  ;D

I can only play sunday nights (that's 6pm my time here - it's currently 5:20pm here) Thought if i get lucky, i can sometimes play on saturday night as well. Same time as sunday nights though. If you see Kevetsa Kusuroth/Irukanjii/Smitt (double "t") online give him a yell, and he'll be able to help you out :)

As for me, i'm off to plan the interior of the Guild House  :)  hehehehe  Give me a PM if you have questions :)

Hiya! I'm sorry to say that i won't be on much this week or next. That includes the SH forums   :'(  Friends here are planning a trip to the beach soon (i'm in the mountains at the moment... far, far away from ANY beach) So, that'll be a whole day thing (if not two). Then a different group of friends are planning a camping trip, that'll go on for about 3 days. After i get back from camping, i must bullet-train away to Tokyo for more fun fun fun (this'll be for about 2 days... could be more depending how my funds will hold out). So yeah... all this starts from tomorrow. So i'm just giving everyone a heads up as to what's going on   :)  So you wouldn't think I've been kidnapped by some crazed garden gnomes, brandishing swizzle sticks or anything like that  ;D

For Loco Moco (should you read this :P) --- I have not forgoten about your sig. I'll send it to you when i get back from Tokyo  :)  no worries

The war is over for now.

The Wolves are as active as ever, meaning whenever I macro you or my IW character.

Other than that, all you've missed is some nice Dread Pirate hunting and Blazer getting exploded.

i'm still here and still alive... very busy though... uni started and all + the need to find a job  hehehehehe  i though i'd drop by and let people know that i'm still around... well here anyway. I'm not too sure when i'll get a good chance (any chance for that matter...  ::)) but as soon as i do. I'll let you know :) The Iron Walrus will live on!  ;D hehehehe

well, this is about time i went to sleep now... mucho, mucho things to do tomorrow! (for those that care, and those who have nothing better to read) All of my classes this semester are in Japanese... nothing but japanese... in HUGE lecture halls... just a wee bit harder that your average lecture.   :P  So much kanji (the uber hard(er) characters) ah well, good practice... well sort of. This semester i've decided to take  Japanese Language, Problems facing the Japanese language [UBER hard class... my friends don't understand it... O.O!], management systems (theory), labor economics, and two other cultural classes that i have no clue as to what they are. They were more or less picked at random :) YAY! one seems to resemble some form of japanese history... the other is... well, i'm still lost on that one :)  Great chances for passing it!  hehehehehehe

At the moment that seems to be all... well off to sleep. Tomorrow i wake up to labor management! hurrah! :)  Math is power!!  :D

(P.S. - I think my inglish is slipping a bit  :P  hehehehe)

Ah, it's been some time!   :)   The guild has more or less been in vacation mode for a while now... a long while now. Anyway, I'm going to try to bring it back and put it in it's place. I am currently re-doing some things with Kuko (shouldn't take long... most will be complete through hunting) and I'm looking to finishing the guild house 2-nd floor is complete but still have a couple more floors to go. But i am looking to increase numbers in the guild, so if you would like to join The Iron Wolves (mercenary guild) give me a yell when you see either online, here or pm or maybe throw a rock my way on the street   :P  hehehehe

P.S. - the guild house will feature a combat arena at the top! so people will be free to come in and clobber each other as much as they like. I am also thinking of holding some events there too. Maybe something like a guilds tournament or something.... but that'll be thought about and planned more later  ;)
