General Discussion / Away slightly

I've been sick the last couple of days and it doesn't look like its going away soon. I'll be back as soon as it passes! Or after I move, whichever comes first (I'm moving in 10 days).

I find myself at one of their inns. The mattress is too soft, and the scent of humanity wafts through a crack in the darkened window pane. I hear their soft voices outside the door, wondering about me. It makes me smile in amusement. Let them talk. They are more children to our people than I am, and I, barely out of my childhood, though not my youth. Its good that I have come up here to learn. I lay in wonder of what knowledge I will return with, what experiences, what memories (for our memory is long, and I shall have ages to recall such things).

Already my opinion is biased, more than likely due to the education I've have received thus far. Racial bias! I find the humans short, small, sturdy, against my tall, lithe form. Their skins are pasty compared to the dark crimson of my own, so I have kept to my true, beautifully pale form to attempt to match amongst them better - perhaps after a bit of time my ruddy flesh will pale due to being so far from the heat I am used to (its unbearably cold here) and I will be able to fold back my lovely wings so as to not draw so much attention. Either way it appears as if hiding what I am, to better mix amongst the mortals, is impossible. Therefore I will make the most of my innate beauty, using what I have to seduce and comfort them out of their fears. Why I can't hide my large, almond-shaped, pure onyx eyes no matter what I do, and I refuse to hide my lovely horns, which are only now beginning to grow and form into a beautiful crescent shape through and over my long, thick burgundy hair. And Father always said to use everything within your power to get your way.

You can learn nothing from those who fear you, and I must, above all, learn while I am here. That is my entire purpose.

But it grows late, and I must rest for now. We will see what daybreak brings.
