Stuck at verifying account screen

I was trying to get started, but my client keeps locking up at Verifying Account

I'm running XP, with UO:ML installed.  Not using CUO or UOG, did a direct extraction of the files directly into my game folder since this is the only server I'm playing on atm.  Changed the login.cfg to jhs59.homeip.net,1980

Suggestions anyone?

Yes. Use UOGateway.

If you don't then you can't connect. UOGateway breaks the client encryption and allows you to connect.

it doesnt recognize my client and updating the uog.rar file didnt help.

downloaded razor and launched with that instead, works now.

I really wish you guys would do what we suggest.  You'll get in with Razor, maybe, but you won't get any of the custom graphic items.

What was suggested did not work or I would have.  I did not willingly spend 4 staring at my keyboard wondering why the suggestions worked for other people but not me.

Not sure if it will help or not but try downloading UORice. It is another program that breaks the encryption.  Well sorta lol, it adds to your directories a 2D and 3D client with "no cryp" on them (no encryption). It may work but it may not. Marlenus and Acacia are the experts on this subject and they know the shard like the back of their hands.... at times, so i would just stay in contact with them, especially Marlenus, and work with them and see what solutions arise.

I'm glad you got in using Razor. So long as you copied all of Sylvan's patches into your UO folder this should work fine for you.

There's something new I'd like you to try with UOGateway.

Try opening your Control Panel and double clicking on Add/Remove Programs.. Wait for the list to populate and then close the window and close Control Panel.. Then see if UOGateway will see the client. This is just for the benefit of learning. I'd like to know if it works.
