Reasey

Rease Hunter is a sometimes surly, generally friendly, vaguely shady half-elven innkeeper who never knew his parents, only the many rumors, stories and suppositions he has heard over the years. Catch him on a slow night at the Pretarian and he might even tell you a "true account" of his parents (which will in no way bear any resemblance to the same story told on another such night). Truth be told, he really has no clue who they were and could care less as to their fate.

He was dropped in secret on the steps of a charitable "foundling house" (orphanage) and left to rot within its walls, Rease spent nine long years fighting the bullies who refused to share with the "half-bred S.O.B" or made crude jokes about the shape of his ears. When he finally ran away from the fights, constant discipline and regular beatings, he was an adequate brawler and amateur thief. In time he came to the attention of the Vandore Clan, a local criminal organization. They trained him as a fighter and used him as a thug and enforcer. Not wanting to be trapped within the city working for table scraps and copper bits, he also tried his hand at bounty hunting under the name he earned as a street thug called "The Black Swordsman" for his penchent for wearing blacked armour, while being careful to only chase down members of other guild houses at the same time.

Rease made a few friends both within the clan and without, even going so far as to participate in a few so-called "adventures" whenever possible. He lived his chosen life to prove himself on the battlefield, earn his money and live only for the "joy of battle". Finally his activities garnered enough attention from certain quarters that the clan leaders began to doubt his usefulness and loyalties and began to seek a way to quietly rid themselves of him. They began sending him further out on more dangerous mission in the hopes that he would simply fail to return. Instead, he stumbled upon an even better opportunity. The Clan Elders recognized the potential profits available to them in Marketvale and sent him there to act as their agent.

For several months, he played the role of a down-at-the-heels adventurer, making quiet contact with smugglers, pirates and other lawless men. Then, when the time seemed right, he made an offer for the new but still struggling inn, paying less than the previous owner (one Nissa Aerin) asked for, sending her back to the Middle Kingdoms. There were rumors that perhaps he had strong-armed her out, but those are mostly unfounded. Mostly.

Its an odd role for Rease to play- that of legitimate innkeeper while keeping his secret cellars open to the Vandore Clans underworld alliances. Hes fairly sure that his dealings are still secret, but people seem to have a way of knowing the oddest things...
Don't worry I'll put something here.
