Tetsu looked at the message. He hadn't opened it yet. This would be his first big job. He broke the seal and began to read it.

"Name: Countess Isalentia

Task: Find out information as to who she works with, what she does, and where she does it. She lives in MarketVale.

End of Message"

It was short, as any he expected. He didn't know the name of his employer, only where to leave the information. He knew where she lived already, he had heard of her from previous jobs. So he set off to her house. He went in the side entrance, assuming that she had some sort of guard in the front. He climbed the stairs, and quietly opened the door, and crept inside. There was a piano directly inside. He enjoyed playing the piano, he would have to play this one sometime. He moved across the room to the bookshelves, and scanned through the titles. He'd seen less interesting books before, however, her selection was interesting. He admired her cleanliness, there was no dust on the bookshelf, or even on the table beside him. He assumed that she had someone that cleaned for her though, so he gave her no credit. He looked to his left, she had already put up a Christmas tree. He admired her selection of tree, it was clean cut, not too wide and annoying. He moved on to the hallway, she had some pictures here, no doubt of herself. By looking at these pictures, he realized he did not know what she looked like, he would soon have to find that out. How unprofessional of his employers to not provide a portrait of her.
There was food on the table in the dining room. It seemed that this was fresh, however he doubted it. Likely just fake food. He didn't touch it, as to not get his fingers dirty. He started for the kitchen, noticing the apple barrel to his right. He took one, examined it for impurities, deemed it worthy of his bite, and began to eat it. He moved on into the kitchen, no doubt she had never set a foot in here. She likely had a cook to do the work for her. Speaking of a cook, he wondered where everyone was. There should be someone tending to the care of the house, but it seemed that there was no one here. There were stairs just outside the kitchen, he climbed them, and realized he was in her room. This was where he wanted to be, this is where she would keep her personal things. The first thing he noticed was a fishbowl. He approached it, and looked inside. There was a fish in it. He could not understand how the fish could breath underwater, so he could not understand why it should still be living. He reached his hand in, and grabbed the fish, it wiggled, doing it's best to break free of this death defying grip. Tetsu pet it a little, then forced the fish's insides to turn into jelly as he crushed the fish with his hand. He dropped it back in the water. It floated to the top, lifeless. He approached the bed,  noticing the neatness of it. No doubt a maid would have done this as well. He rustled through the her dressers, and armories. He noticed nothing of particular value to his job. This was useless, if he could find nothing of use in her bedroom, he would only be able to study her, and find out what he needed to know from her directly.
He left the house, and sat, just outside the door, waiting for her to return to her home, where he would then watch her, and study her.
