Keely paced back and forth in her study.  “How can this be?” she wondered.  “How can I have feelings for a daemon?!”  She had learned the hard way that daemons are evil creatures and have no heart or feelings.  They had killed her family when she was a child.  She found it unbearable to even look upon any of their kind.  Until….she met a man that came to her rescue.  He was cloaked so she could not make out his features.  All she knew was that he was kind and charming.  She had seen him around the Meadow, but could not understand why he was always entertaining the company of such evil people, the followers of that awful Liche.  Keely enjoyed the innocent flirtation that occurred between her and Blazer.  They began to cultivate a friendship that quickly progressed.  Keely found herself thinking of this shrouded man more and more with each passing day.  She never understood why he would never lower his hood.  Soon, she would find out why.

Then one day there was rumors of war.  Abraxius was on the move again.  There was a lot of commotion in the meadow.  Blazer was preparing for battle.  Keely was sure he would be a powerful warrior for the cause of good.  She ran to him to wish him well in the battle and promise that she’d be there waiting for him when he returned.  She reached the meadow and…*GASP* Blazer lowers his hood to put on his armor.  “He’s a daemon!” Keely exclaimed.  “But daemons are supposed to be evil” she thought to herself.  How could something so evil show her so much kindness?  This explained so much now.  She had been terribly hurt the day she told Blazer about her family and he tried to convince her not to judge a race based on what she experienced.  How could he be so cold?  She expected him to console her.  Now his actions made sense, but her feelings confused her.  She was already in love with him.  That she could not deny.  Keely did not want her confusion to distract Blazer from the battle so she approached him and tried to keep her composure and kissed him on the cheek for luck and wished him well.  As soon as he left for battle she ran back to her house and cried out.  She loved him, but didn’t want to love a daemon.  Yet when she heard of the dangerous battle going on and the slaughter that was taking place she yearned to hear news that Blazer was safe.  She consulted her trusted friend and protector, T’Genni Vu.  T’Genni saw how distraught her friend was and rushed into the battlefield to fight beside Blazer, insuring his safety.  This was a great favor from T’Genni considering she does not fight for good nor evil, but for profit.  She profited nothing from this venture, except the gratitude of a friend.

When Blazer returned from the battle Keely was waiting for him just as she had promised.  As soon as he was in her sights she ran to him.  It felt so good to see him alive and not badly wounded.  She helped mend his wounds.  His skin was so warm.  This was the first time she’d touched a daemon.  He did not feel like she expected.  He was so tired and worn from the battle.  She looked deep into his eyes. She saw exhaustion.  She saw… love.  Love?  Love in an evil creatures eyes?  Had she been wrong all these years?  Could good and evil coexist?

After he had rested Blazer asked Keely to come to the park with him.  He needed to ask her a question.  She had knots in her stomach.  She knew what he was going to ask.  What was she to do?  She had to tell him no. She didn’t want to, but she would have to break his heart.  He poured out his heart to her declaring his love and devotion.  Then he asked her to be his wife.  When she opened her mouth to answer him every fiber of her being screamed “NO!” except the one that mattered.  “Yes, of course, yes”.   Her heart had betrayed her and overruled her head.  She had just agreed to become the wife of a daemon.  Then he kissed her so deeply and passionately that it melted all of her doubts and worries away.  She would become Mrs. Keely Bloodfire soon.  And nothing made her happier.
